Cookies and local storage are different
Cookies are small values that browsers can send with requests to a website. Local storage keeps values in your browser for scripts on the same origin to read. Both can remember preferences, so both deserve a clear explanation.
Our own JavaScript does not set cookies. The preference controls below use local storage only after you make a choice. There are no optional analytics, advertising trackers or third-party media embeds in these pages.

What is stored

The stored value does not include your name, email, message draft or reading history. Browser storage is specific to your browser profile and this site’s origin. A choice on one device does not automatically apply to another.
Changing or removing a choice
Return to this page through Cookie preferences in any footer to replace your choice. You can also delete this site’s stored data through your browser settings. Blocking local storage may prevent the preference from being remembered, but it does not stop you reading the articles.
Drafts, clipboard and downloads
The contact worksheet does not save draft text to local storage. Clipboard copying and file downloading happen only when you select their respective buttons. Those copies are managed by your device and are not removed by changing a cookie preference. Your browser may separately retain autofill or restored form values.
